Dear Fellow Citizens of the World,

{2 minutes to read} COVID-19 has taken us by surprise and unfortunately continues to spread. While we are each doing our share of protecting ourselves and protecting others by staying in isolation, some of us have discovered quite creative ways to remain connected while still remaining socially responsible.

•Just yesterday, my 12-year-old granddaughter told me about her Netflix Party. A few friends select a movie they want to watch together. While they are watching the movie, a chatbox on the side of the screen allows them to send each other messages. If you are so inclined, reach out to your friends and go to the movies!

•A couple of friends scheduled “dinner” with another couple. While each couple remains in their own home, they agree to eat dinner at the same time and chat through Zoom or another video conferencing platform. You may even cook together prior to dinner and share recipes!

•Through video conferencing, a teen-age boy played the guitar and sang along with his grandfather who was in his own separate residence. Reach out to your loved ones who may be alone and offer them a song or a reading!

•A dozen family members scheduled a Zoom video conference during which they could all see each other, make sure everyone was doing well, and talk to one another, or more accurately, on top of each other, as they were so excited to connect. A beneficial family reunion without the hassle of hosting 12 people in your house!

Please share with us any ways that you have found to remain connected.
