why I chose to become a divorce mediator

Jennifer Safian, Founder of www.SafianMediation.comIn my latest video posted on the second page of my website under “about Jennifer”, I discuss why I chose to become a Divorce Mediator, and how my upbringing and personal life began preparing me for this career long before I knew anything about it.

“A mediator is a neutral party who will protect both of you, and the mediation process, to ensure that you build a legal separation agreement that feels equitable and fair to both of you. If there are compromises to be made, you will make them knowingly and willingly.”

I am a mediator, and invite you to find out how I came to this profession that I enjoy so much.

Divorce attorneys work for their own particular clients and are willing to go after whatever they’re being paid to attain without caring about both sides of the issue. In this way, non-custodial parents can end up paying far more child support than they can afford to pay and still be able to live a decent lifestyle. Employing a divorce mediator makes a lot of sense to me. This person can try to work out equitable settlements for both partners in spite of the animosity that exists between the two. In this way, the divorce can be handled more calmly and leave a better post-divorce relationship in which to raise the children.

Thanks for sharing your story, it was really great! I actually didn’t know that was a thing. I makes perfect sense and I wouldn’t hesitate to go to one if I ever had a divorce, heaven forbid. I should show this to my friend, I think she would really appreciate it. Thanks again! Keep it up!
